Metal-ceramic crowns and bridges have a thin, metal capsule in their base (about 0.2mm thick) around which ceramic plating is baked, so that it envelops it on all sides, in that way only the inside of the crown is lined with metal, which gives it appropriate firmness, while the ceramic imitates the tooth color, making it look natural.
